Pierce Construction is located on a 38 acre tract of land, with about 100,000 square feet of facilities under roof to provide flexible operational capacity to meet our customer's demands. The property is home to our Executive, Administrative, Sales and Engineering offices, and the following Production facilities.
The Layout and Cut facility is generally where production of each project in the factory begins. In this building, raw materials are processed according to engineer’s specifications and precisely cut into the components that will eventually make-up our customers’ orders and finished projects. The main tasks of cutting and shaping raw materials to specs are carried out with technical expertise by trained operators utilizing the following equipment. A CNC machine with two oxygen burning stations and one plasma cutter with a 40’ bed is capable of cutting two 10' x 20' sheets of any thickness metal plate from 1/8” to 6” thick. A Hydra Mech 20” x 32” CNC horizontal bandsaw cuts materials to size, then a Peddington House drill line processes steel from 8” to 36” in height and 60’ in length. Also utilized are a Geka 80 ton iron worker, 400 ton press brake, hydraulic sheer, plate rollers capable of rolling 3/8” to 8’ plates, and two 10-ton overhead cranes with dual 5-ton winches. This equipment gives the Layout and Cut facility broad capabilities to meet our customers requirements.
Materials requiring custom machining are processed in this building by our highly experienced machinists. The Custom Machine shop contains various sized CNC turning center and milling machines, a vertical machining center, radial arm drill press, several lathes, and other specialty equipment, with variable tolerances. This facility enables us to provide our customers with a wide variety of custom machining services.
After the Layout and Cut facility and Custom Machine shop processes are complete, then fabrication is necessary. One of Pierce’s original buildings, the Fabrication facility, is where a team of skilled fitters and welders take numerous parts and components and transform them into the machinery and equipment that our customers rely upon to operate their businesses. A hydraulic crimping machine, multi-process welding machines, overhead cranes and lifts are the main tools used in the Fabrication shop. The well-built, precision machinery and finished products that leave the Fabrication shop are what have given Pierce Construction its outstanding reputation in the industry.
The "Long Shed" totaling about 11,250 sq. ft. along with a 6,000 sq. ft. industrial fabrication shop are both dedicated primarily to Industrial Power projects. These facilities are ideal for fabricating oil and gas pipeline, valves, boilers, drilling components and the structural steel and bases. These facilities contain Heliarc welders, Hydrostatic pressure testing equipment and pipe fabrication equipment along with the ability to weld and fabricate stainless steel, copper-nickel and different types of carbon steel.
Before projects are loaded onto trucks and shipped to the customer, they first receive custom sandblasting and paint coating applications. Sandblasting and painting are performed in this interior and exterior facility that is equipped with roll-up doors, a rail system with winch, explosion proof lighting, and conventional and airless sprayers. Custom coating and paint systems are provided as required by our customers.
Pierce Construction maintains a large fleet of vehicles and transportable tools and equipment for custom fabrication, installation, mechanical turnarounds and related construction at the job site. This includes full size drop deck tractor trailers, cargo and flat bed trailers, dump trucks, crane trucks, welding trucks, 48' tool trailers, extended boom forklifts and portable diesel welding machines. A Pierce site crew is essentially equipped as a fully functional mobile fabrication and construction crew, giving our customers the flexibility to customize almost any project.
